Weicon invests in its headquarters in Münster
The Münster-based family business Weicon has invested around ten million in its headquarters, opening a new building with attractive offers for employees, completely renovating an existing building and creating new outdoor facilities.
After a construction period of one and a half years, the two-storey new building was opened in May. It has a total area of about 700 m² and offers space for some of the company's departments as well as completely new areas.
Urban Bistro and opportunities for time out
The heart of the new building is the Urban Bistro. With 144 m², it offers space for around 50 guests to take a break. The focus of the bistro is on healthy and varied food, which is also as regionally oriented as possible.
In summer, the forecourt of the new building is equipped with seating groups and large sunshades so that people can also eat outdoors. In addition, a miniature golf course and a swimming pond invite you to clear your head and recharge your batteries. An area of around 450 m² for taking time out from your desk.
Physiotherapy
Weicon now offers its employees a company-owned physiotherapy practice, with an area of approx. 190 m² providing space for treatment rooms, changing rooms with showers and a large training room. In this room, courses such as Pilates, Back Fit or TRX are regularly offered for employees.
"In times of a shortage of skilled workers and intense competition for talent, we have to create attractive offers to stand out from the crowd as an employer. It is very important for us that our team feels comfortable with us and enjoys coming to work. But we also want to attract new employees and, of course, keep them with us for as long as possible – this is only possible with such investments in the future of our company," says Ann-Katrin Weidling, Managing Director at Weicon.
Using solar energy
Since sustainability and energy generation from natural resources also play a role in Weicon's new building, a photovoltaic system with an output of 30 KW was installed on the roof. This output could, for example, make 2,100 cups of coffee or toast 3,990 slices of bread per hour.
